In 1984 Bonnie Beatrice, a resident of Hadlyme, CT, began her training and apprenticeship under a local potter / mentor, eventually becoming her assistant.   In 1993, with her mentor’s encouragement, Bonnie ventured off to develop her own style, establishing Pond View Pottery.   From that point on her technique and creative use of clays have been self taught, thanks to the inspiration and motivation she has received from fellow potters and artisans.

Bonnie designs and individually hand builds her pottery, allowing each piece to take on its own distinct shape and personality. She uses Porcelain clay, with its smooth texture and soft white color, to create her gracefully shaped Woven Bowls. The rich earth tones and rustic qualities of Stoneware clay allow her Garden Accessories to blend with their natural surroundings. Earthenware clays, brightly accented with colorful glazes, are used to form her Whimsical Bells.

Having entered her porcelains in art shows and county fairs throughout Eastern Connecticut, Bonnie has had the honor of winning top awards including “Supervisor’s Award” and “Best in Show“.

Among her many interests, Bonnie enjoys the study of Native American pottery. Owing to her enthusiasm in archaeology, she assists Connecticut’s State Archaeologist as a volunteer field worker, participates in educational and outreach programs, and is a founding member of the Friends of the Office of State Archaeology (FOSA).
